Christine Nyokabi Macharia, a police officer attached to the Kahawa West Police Station has been apprehended by The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
This is after she is alleged to have demanded Ksh. 50,000 in consequence of which she would facilitate withdrawal of the complainant’s criminal case from court.
Confirming the arrest on Tuesday, the Commission’s Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi affirmed that the suspect was apprehended on Monday evening and detained at Kilimani Police Station pending processing.
She was on Tuesday, returned to the Integrity Centre Police Station where she was interviewed and recorded a statement.
The matter will be processed as per the dictates of the law.
