It has been termed as an answered prayer for Gatanga’s finest CPA Samuel Waweru Mwangi popularly known as Uncle Sam who was on Wednesday announced to be the Chairman of the Kenyatta International Convention Center KICC. He replaces Irungu Nyakera whose appointment was revoked through a gazette notice.
An expert in Finance Management and Investment guru, he has handled as lead advisor on international and local companies buyout and merger, trading investment opportunities.
He brings transformative leadership to KICC with his extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and operations, holding a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from KCA University. With a proven track record in overseeing financial operations, managing budgets, and conducting detailed financial analyses, he excels at leading teams, implementing financial strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
His expertise includes optimizing financial performance, managing cash flow, and supporting strategic decision-making. As a member of ICPAK with certifications including CPA and CIFA, he is committed to excellence in finance.
He had vied in Gatanga Constituency in 2022 but as fate would have it, he narrowly missed the seat following maligning propaganda that he was allied to the Azimio coalition.
CPA Samuel Waweru Mwangi’s extensive background in finance and investment seems like a great fit for leading KICC. His expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and financial strategy could bring fresh ideas to the convention center, potentially boosting its global positioning.
It’s also interesting that he had a political stint in Gatanga before this role. Despite the misfortune of missing the political seat, Uncle Sam has been a great asset to the people of Gatanga who he has been consulting and working with closely and freely offering his resources in a bid to achieve positive social transformation.
