Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichungwah has continued his onslaught against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua this time terming him as a man drunk with power and ready to stamp his authority on anyone who dares cross his path or speak contrary to him.

More damning insider happenings in the Kenya Kwanza government are now coming to light. Just recently, a small chipping was given out in one of the local dailies.

The Article gave juicy information about how a senior member of the government almost took the life out of a popular blogger right in front of the president.

“A controversial blogger and digital strategist in one of the political formations in the country once got the scare of his life. This is after a senior political honcho confronted him in front of the boss. The political honcho held the blogger by his neck accusing him of spinning propaganda and targeting him with a smear campaign.” Read the article

Now those of us familiar with the positions and goings-on in the political circles could see through this article that the description fit only two gentlemen from Murima…One has been christened as Riggy G and the other Dennis Itumbi.

This altercation has remained private knowledge until the leader of Majority Kimani Ichungwah was given the microphone at one of the local radio shows in the country and then voila, the man laid bare the undergarments of his fellow Murima men

“I don’t know what you would say of a person holding high office, who walks into a meeting in State Lodge; grabs by the collar, a junior officer in the name of Dennis Itumbi, threatening him with physical assault within the precincts of a stage lodge. On the basis that someone who had no defined role until recently is not tweeting the things you want him to tweet.” Said Mr. Ichungwah

Well, Dennis Itumbi undoubtedly doesn’t speak in Gachagua’s corner and many a time has been hitting on the self-made Mt. Kenya Kingpin. Itumbi has consistently been using his online following on X to pour cold water on Mr. Gachagua’s moves and gains in the Mountain and specifically heavily critical of Gachagua’s clarion call for the ‘One Man One vote One shilling’ revenue sharing formula.

It is on this basis that Mr. Ichungwah thinks the DP is turning out to be quite a vindictive character

“Why would you if you hold high office be so petty and vindictive with leaders because they are not kneeling before you and hailing you as the King and the Greatest of All?” Ichungwa added.

Mr. Ichungwah however is not a stranger as far as hitting on DP Gachagua is concerned. Just recently during a church service in Nairobi and in front of President Ruto, Ichungwa boldly labeled Mr. Gachagua as a viper on Ruto’s hand that needed to be shaken off.

As a result, it is no secret that there is still a plan being hatched to impeach DP Gachagua. This is despite President Ruto having talked MPs out of the sinister motive.

Whether this spat between DP Gachagua and Dennis Itumbi is taken as part of his gross misconduct charge remains to be seen.

“When people got power and access to State resources then their true characters came out. What I see is a Deputy President who is vindictive, desperate, petty and grossly dangerous.” Ichungwah stated

Many legislators speaking on condition of anonymity to RTC News claim that Mr. Gachagua should have his numerous prayers while facing Mt Kenya to thank if he still flies the national flag on his car or is still a resident of the official Karen Residence by December 2024.

But the real question lies on whether Mr. Ruto is aware of this second attempt to impeach his deputy and whether or not he is in support through his surrogates.
