In a move aimed at enhancing convenience and flexibility for its customers, NCBA Bank has announced extended operating hours for Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions. This follows the recent directive by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to extend operating hours for the Kenya Electronic Payment and Settlement System (KEPSS), which facilitates large-value interbank transfers in real-time.
With these new changes, NCBA customers can now send and receive RTGS payments starting as early as 7:00 AM on business days. This earlier start provides businesses and individuals with greater flexibility to manage high-value transactions and optimise cash flow throughout the day.
In addition, NCBA has extended the cut-off times for same-day RTGS processing:
- Digital RTGS Transactions: Customers using the NCBA Now Mobile App and Online Banking Platforms can now make same-day RTGS payments up to 4:30 PM, an hour later than the previous cut-off of 3:30 PM.
- Manual RTGS Instructions: For those transacting at a physical NCBA branch, the cut-off time for same-day RTGS processing has been extended to 4:00 PM.
These changes reflect NCBA’s commitment to aligning with national financial infrastructure improvements while offering increased efficiency and control to its customers. Whether managing payroll, supplier payments, or other large-value transfers, NCBA clients now have an extended window to initiate and complete their transactions with ease.
Customers are encouraged to take full advantage of the updated service hours to enjoy greater flexibility, convenience, and peace of mind when handling their financial operations. For further assistance, customers can visit their nearest NCBA branch or contact the bank’s customer service channels.
