The Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, has formally approved the registration of the Inclusion National Justice and Civic Education Transformation (INJECT) Party. The party, which predominantly attracts youth, particularly Gen Zs, faced initial rejection when it was submitted for approval under the name Gen Z Party.

According to the Registrar, the first application was denied because the party name did not adequately reflect inclusivity, which is a requirement for political parties in Kenya.

In a statement, the Registrar explained that “a political party must aim to represent a wide array of Kenyans, not just a specific age group.” This led to the transformation and renaming of the party to INJECT, ensuring a more inclusive appeal.

As outlined in a letter dated September 27, 2024, sent to Morara Kebaso’s lawyer, Brian Pareno Solonka, the party’s applicant, this marks the beginning of the party’s formal registration process.

The Office of Registrar of Political Parties has reserved the name INJECT for up to 90 days from the date of the letter, giving the party time to move forward with the next stages in the political registration process.

INJECT Potential Party Leader, Morara Kebaso shortly after the party’s approval expressed optimism about its future success. In a bold tweet, Kebaso says, “INJECT party will sweep Parliament, Senate, and all elective seats like a flash flood. People of Kenya, you are welcome to your office in Kahawa Sukari, Kiu River Road, 6th South Avenue.”

The party’s approval has sparked discussions across social platforms, with many seeing it as a step toward youth participation in politics, while others remain skeptical of its ability to unite various age groups under one banner.
