The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has invited ousted DP Rigathi Gachagua to record a statement following his remarks that there were two attempts to assassinate him by way of food poisoning
The remarks made by Gachagua shortly after his discharge from Karen Hospital pointed an accusing finger at the National Intelligence Service(NIS) Officers attached to his office, who Gachagua believes had instructions to poison his food in Kisumu and Nyeri on separate dates and events.
Gachagua urged President William Ruto to ‘allow him to live’ and added that should anything happen to him, the president should be held to account.
While releasing the statement, Gachagua said that he had raised the matter of his assassination to the NIS.
Gachagua now has a date with the DCI just on the same day courts are supposed to hear a petition related to his impeachment
