President William Ruto shakes hands with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the China-Africa Forum

The recent President Ruto trip to China was not like the usual ones he makes. In fact the trip already caused jitters among the Western Powers.

There is a place where this all began and it perhaps went unnoticed that time.

When Ruto got into power, take stock of the countries he first visited… The UK, the US, France, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea.

All these fall under the global political alignment that is anchored under the Political Axis championed by the EU and USA

The US has been ever so keen on Kenya’s internal affairs since the Uhuruto second term in office began. The height of their internal meddling was openly vivid during the 2022 elections. Their preferred candidate was Mr. Ruto.

And this was perhaps exemplified in the bravado that was on display in Ruto’s 2022 presidential campaigns during the campaigns

Fast forward to the current days where the US ambassador Meg Whitman has been a loudly present figure in the country. Much to the chagrin of Kenyans who even started alluding that she has William by the scruff of his neck?

She single handedly took William on the US tour back in May 2024

While in the US, President Biden treated William to a State visit. In fact a first in as few since the African head of state to be accorded such honor was Ghana’s John Koffour in 2008.

It was then reported locally that Mr Ruto has secured Multi-Billion dollar deals in infrastructure, healthcare, trade you name them.

Well, shock to inform you that most of those reports were based on information made up by the president’s team. Almost non of those deals reported do exist.

Now as this State Visit to the Us was happening. Ruto had sent another team to the China…typical of  a gambler’s Double Chance

The trip was dubbed as an exchange program between the UDA party and China’s ruling Communist Party

The exchange program as was dubbed, is what created a path to Ruto’s visit to China

Kenya formally joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank as a fully paid member.

A membership that will grant Kenya  access to funding for infrastructure, climate change efforts and blah blah blah.

Now here is the gist; What was a man considered a puppet of the West doing signing deals in the East? China as we might all be aware is a strong member of the BRICS+

An alliance of made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa that is seeking to admit more member countries

President Ruto arrives from his USA trip in May 2024.

China has signalled her intent of clawing back on the gains that The US and her allies have made in Kenya. This trip might just have provided a proper rubber-stamp.

As a result of this trip to China, President Ruto dropped French firms and courted China to complete the dualling of Nairobi-Malaba Highway.

Ruto also unlocked a 5 year freeze on loans from China. In fact he secured a 40 billion shilling deal to complete stalled infrastructure projects. There is also a deal on the table to complete the Standard Gauge Railway all the way to Congo Brazzaville.

The West through its enslaving institutions; The World Bank and IMF, has already taken note of Ruto’s intent to face East and has started questioning Kenya’s loan management integrity, this signalling a strain in Ruto’s relations with the West, which is also due high corruption appetite in Kenya.

William has tough choices to make. Go East or West..

William has tough choices to make. Go East or West.

The results of an alliance with the East are open and vivid for all to see. The infrastructure projects and all

The results of the dalliance with the West almost led to a revolution recently.
